Join Date: Apr ; Location: St. Louis, MO; Posts: 11, always had that Hispanic look on her since X is Hispanic in X-men Evolution.
The Evolution Nightcrawler is very similar to his comic version and has a friendly big-brother relationship with Cyclops.
During his early days at the institute, he was still feeling very insecure about fitting in and compensated for it with excessive goofiness until the episode "Middleverse".
Kurt is the biological son of Mystique, but was raised by kind foster parents in Germany instead of being abandoned by Mystique, she accidentally dropped him over a bridge while escaping Magneto, and when she saw he had been taken in by foster parents, she decided to let him remain with them.
He is the youngest member of the team. Spyke would much rather play basketball or skateboard than study; he has problems with authority, making him the "rebel" of the main team.
Spyke and Quicksilver had an ongoing rivalry since childhood that culminated when Pietro framed Evan for robbery. Later in the series, he joins the Morlocks when he loses control of his powers, but reappears as a protector of all mutants. He is also in charge of the students combat and survival training and is famous among the students for his apparently difficult and challenging methods, as well as his strict and unyielding teaching manner.
Storm can summon lightning from a benign sky, manifest violent storms, call up freezing blizzards and bring all forms of precipitation to bear. She can even harness the power of wind, allowing her to fly. Ororo is known for her calm personality and regal manner, and she was even worshipped as a Goddess in Africa due to her ability to summon the rains. Rogue Meghan Black is a reclusive, paranoid goth. She has a great deal of angst with respect to her powers, which keep her from ever safely touching anyone.
Due to the machinations of Mystique, Rogue initially distrusted the X-Men, but after learning that Mystique tricked her by attacking her posing as members of the X-Men, she accepted their membership. At first annoyed by Nightcrawler's joking behavior, she becomes close to him after learning that she is his adopted sister, and both renounce Mystique for abusing them.
The series established no birth name for Rogue and gave no hints to it after her introductory episode. Rogue's mutant ability allows her to draw upon the aspects of another memories, habits, speech patterns, powers [if mutant] through bare skin to skin contact.
It is uncontrollable and possibly deadly. She becomes close to Scott over their common problems with controlling their powers and develops a crush on him, but his own crush on Jean and her shyness prevents any further development of a relationship.
She later becomes friends with Gambit. She is the second youngest member of the team; her culinary skills are a constant source of dismay among the others. Kitty led a very sheltered life before joining the X-Men and was initially afraid of Nightcrawler's "demonic" appearance, but she has since grown into a very open-minded and worldly young lady, and she and Kurt Wagner eventually develop a very close brother and sister friendship.
She also begins dating Avalanche of the Brotherhood of Mutants, despite their opposing teams. Beast is similar to his comic counterpart in most ways, though the Evolution version speaks more casually. He was originally a gym coach and chemistry teacher at Bayville High before his latent transformation into the ape-like Beast could no longer be controlled with the medications he had formulated upon first learning of his mutation.
This change of fortune forced him to retire and join the X-Men, where he could continue to teach. It was during the initial discovery of his mutation that he became acquainted with Professor Xavier. Evolution featured several songs that were produced exclusively for the show: Rogue's Theme " in "Rogue Recruit".
The theme and score for X-Men: Evolution was composed and produced by William Kevin Anderson. Several characters had distinct musical cues, including Avalanche heavy guitar riffsStorm orchestra pieceand Apocalypse Egyptian music. Others had special sound effects. These include Jean Grey light chime noiseSabretooth roaringRogue also has a unique, black and white special effectMagnetoGambitShadowcatand Nightcrawler. The main theme song was recorded by Anderson.
Production notes[ edit ] One of the main points of the new X-Men: Evolution concept was the design of the new costumes. Early concept art sketches show the X-Men in classic gold-and-black garb.
In these drafts, Spyke wears cornrowsRogue's outfit exposes her midriff, and Jean Grey's costume is the female version of Cyclops' costume. Both Jean Grey and Shadowcat wear face masks, and Kitty is also wearing an orange miniskirt and Doc Martens over spandex. Early Storm drawings show her wearing white rather than black.
Gordon, the character designer and director of various episodes, was never impressed with the Mystique designs for the first season.
Mystique was originally to be presented as nude as in the filmsbut Warner Brothers did not want this included in a Kids' WB! Gordon stopped directing after two seasons, but continued to design characters for the show. He is most satisfied with the designs of Rogue and Wanda.
The Musical, is a real play. The song used, however, is an original song made for the episode. The writers of the show have also admitted that they were fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Using Shadowcat as the catalyst, the two shows appear similar: Evolution became the third longest-running Marvel cartoon, behind Spider-Man: The Animated Series 5 seasons, 65 episodes and X-Men: The Animated Series 5 seasons, 76 episodes. Boyd Kirklandthe show's producer, says his favorite X-Men: Evolution season is Season 3.
It was not a continuation of X-Men: Evolution, though the same creative team was behind the show: Evolution actors appeared in the Iron Man: Armored Adventures episode "The X-Factor". Reception[ edit ] X-Men: Evolution has received mostly positive reviews from critics and is constantly hailed as one of the best superhero animated series of all time. According to IGNthe show aired "much to X-fans' initial protests and lamentations.

A rift has arisen between her and her former teammates, who are now wary of her due to her having been a part of X-Force. The only ones who side with her are Dust and Hellion.
She pleasantly surprises Hellion when she tells him she has missed him, and the two share a brief moment. However, Surge's antagonizing of Laura forces Cyclops to intervene. He then tells her to visit a halfway house in San Francisco for former mutants who are trying to live normal lives.
As she steps into the building, she suddenly experiences a vision similar to her dreams with the building on fire and her surrounded by dismembered corpses. While they are preparing for the roller coaster to launch, Wolverine states he is adopting her as his daughter.
When brought back to the present, the fire was implied to be started by the devil possessing Wolverine. He meets X in the hospital and seemingly "kills" Hellion before diving into her mind.
He tries to convince her to join him as his queen in Hell. She awakes to find that there is blood everywhere but she and Hellion are fine. She also notices a symbol on her hand Marjorie Liu promises that the symbol will be a long mystery.
X silently visits Hellion's room unaware that he knows she was there before she leaves Utopia. X, flanked by Gambit, encountered a young girl named Alice and witness her being murdered. However, they encounter Alice the next day, very much alive and well. Revealing herself openly to X, Claudine explains that Alice is also a clone, fourth of a series of five created by Essex as another experiment alongside several other children that live in the complex.
She then expands upon her own origins, stating that the process of becoming what she is left her with vague, but invasive memories of Essex's life and that as a malignant presence within her mind.

He is slowly killing her as a means of self-resurrection. He even manages to manifest briefly before being re-absorbed back into her. Claudine then incapacitates Gambit and straps X to a peculiar chair, stating her aim to switch their bodies - thus inheriting Laura's healing factor. She has wanted the healing factor since her stabbing, and hopes it will free her of Essex.
The plan backfires when Essex in fact controls Laura's body and uses her to mortally wound Claudine again. Laura manages to overcome Essex's presence in her mind, expelling it through force of will.
Laura, Alice and Gambit manage to escape the laboratory as it collapses and arrange for the children to be given new homes before setting off on their journey again. Following her transformation into a vampire, Jubliee has come to feel that the people she once considered friends are now afraid of her, a pain with which X sympathizes, because she was born and raised to be a killer, and found transitioning to civility difficult.

While walking on the street, Laura sees the same symbol from her dream in the sky and on a man. An earthquake follows and the building near her collapses. As Laura was helping an elderly woman come down from a building, Spider-Man appears and helps bring them down. Laura and Spider-Man later see the symbol appearing in the sky at the same time, and they both realize that they have been dreaming of the same symbol.
Spider-Man realises that the energy emitting from them is involved with the Uni-Power that changes beings into Captain Universe. While discussing this, Valeria activates the device and Laura, Spider-Man and Sue are transported to an alien world. There they are confronted by monstrous warriors. During her confrontation with the Whirldemon King, Laura learns that the emblem on her hand from the first time they bonded is a mark associated with the Enigma force marking her as the ultimate heir to its power.

Girls Night Out[ edit ] X is asked by Wolverine to join him. She replies by asking if there is any other choice. Jubilee tells her she chose to stay with Cyclops because, as a vampire, she can hear the heartbeat of everyone around her, and it makes her hungry and wants to eat them. X tells her that she will not hurt them but Jubilee tells her that the urge is there and that she needs to fight as much she needs blood.
She cannot be with Wolverine because she is afraid to violate his new philosophy: Jubilee tells X that Logan sees her the same way, they both agree that it sucks. X's phone rings as the others need an answer, but they ignore it and Jubilee tells X to go and have some fun and dance.
X explains that she cannot dance, but Jubilee tells her it does not matter because she is hot. X tells her she is not hot. However, as they go, someone follows them. While Jubilee was dancing, X becomes distracted by looking at someone and recognized him as the person who took over Zebra Daddy's operation. She and Jubilee attack him and his men and take the girl who was with him since she knew where the other girls were and how to free them.
As they think about what to do with the girls, because they cannot just call the police, the Black Widow and some S. Natasha offers X to come to the Avengers Academy and she accepts. The next day she tells Logan what happened, and Wolverine tells her he is going to miss her and he is sorry he could not do better by her.
She tells him she is going to miss him too, then she takes a motorcycle and drives to the Academy. After she introduced herself to the other students, she explained to Mettle the difference between killing an innocent and killing to protect an innocent, telling him that he is not a psycho killer, and that they can talk more about it another time. This makes Hazmat feel jealous.
After Briggs took out X and tried to acid burn her, Finesse grabs X's arms and fatally stabs Briggs in the radial and femoral arteries, making him bleed to death. X agrees to keep Finesse's secret, but declares they are no longer friends, upsetting Finesse.

Teen Cyclops tries to calm her down but Laura only ceases hostility after getting Teen Cyclops scent and figuring out that Teen Cyclops is who he says he is.
Suddenly Teen Cyclops awkwardly hugs her, when she was distracted and looking sad, because he thought she needed a hug. Laura tells him that she doesn't do hugs, especially not with an audience as Kitty, Teen Jean, and Teen Beast were watching them.
Teen Jean expressed a very conflicted look upon her face due to the hug and having read part of Laura's mind, thus she knows what happened in Avengers Arena. Laura thanks them for helping her and suggests they take the fight to the Purifiers, but in order for her to track them down, they'll have to return her to where they found her.
However, the fight doesn't go well and the entire team is knocked unconscious by Stryker Jr. She and the All-New X-Men team up again with the Guardians of the Galaxy in search of The Black Vortexduring which Angel submits himself to the Vortex and almost dies, but instead is granted golden light wings.
She asks him why he endangered himself, and he tells her that he wanted to change himself so he won't turn into Archangel and that he can stay himself forever since he is in love with her. Art by Emanuela Lupacchino. After a disguised Tony Stark wins the genetic material of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones ' daughter Danielle Cage in the auction, she advises Tony Stark to drop out of the auction afterwards.
When the unidentified seller of the genetic material meets with Tony Stark and is attacked by Mister Sinister for stealing the genetic material of the original Wolverine, X sheds her disguise and assists Iron Man in fighting Mister Sinister where she manages to slice off Mister Sinister's left hand. This makes her Sarah's biological daughter and not strictly a clone. Consequently, her mutant powers are similar to his.
Like Wolverine, X's primary mutant ability is an accelerated healing factor that allows her to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissues with far greater speed, efficiency, and finality than Wolverine. Injuries such as gunshot wounds, slashes, and puncture wounds completely heal within a matter of seconds.
She has also been shown to be able to reattach limbs; for example, she reattached her hand in seconds after she severed it to escape the restraints placed on her by Kimura. She is also immune to most drugs and toxins, although she can be affected by certain drugs if given sufficient dosage. Given the regenerative nature of her cells, she is potentially-immortaljust like her "father".
Like Wolverine, X possesses retractable claws sheathed within her forearms. She releases the claws through the tissue of her knuckles, leaving small wounds which are healed by her healing factor. Unlike Wolverine, however, X has only two claws per hand which are her primary weapons of offence.
She also possesses a single, retractable claw housed within each foot which she tends to use for defense. These claws are actually made of bone and were forcefully extracted by Zander Rice, sharpened, coated with adamantiumand reinserted into her body. Also unlike Wolverine, X escaped before the procedure to fuse her entire skeleton with adamantium could be performed.
The known exceptions are adamantium itself, Kimura's skin, and vibranium.
